CHER AND GEORGIA ON THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO

Posted by: Twins 30.04.2013

If you thought Cher is a hell-raiser at 66, you should have seen her at as a kid!
The Oscar winning actress/singer stopped by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Tuesday, along with her mother, Georgia Holt, 85, to promote their upcoming Lifetime documentary entitled Dear Mom, Love Cher.
During their chat, Leno surprised Cher by bringing up her stealing — make that “borrowing” – her mom’s car when she was 13-years-old.
Explained Cher, “I learned how to drive when I was 11-years-old…”
“I didn’t know it,” interjected Georgia in a motherly tone.
“I’m a very good driver now,” Cher added. “Anyway, actually I took the car many, many times…”

“My car,” Georgia chimed in, before Cher could proceed with her story.

“One night I was with my girlfriends and their boyfriends, and we were outside this bowling alley and he said ‘Cher, I know you can drive, I have to go do something, will you just stay outside and keep the car running?’ We were out there FOREVER, and people were honking, and I kept having to move it, and I kept having to move it, and I kept getting bigger circles, then I left the parking lot, and then I thought we could go to drive-in, and then the police came.”
“And they called me at 3:30 in the morning and said ‘we have your daughter down here at the police station’,” mom added.
Then, much to Cher’s chagrin, Leno showed her mug shot from when she was 13!
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno airs weeknights at 11:35/10:35c. The special one-hour documentary, Dear Mom, Love Cher, airs Monday, May 6 at 10/9c on Lifetime.

We've also added photos from the show. You can see it in the gallery.

Bio Australia has released a new TV spot for the documentary "Dear Mom, Love Cher".
Dear Mom, Love Cher provides a rare peek into Cher's fascinating family history and features in depth interviews with Georgia Holt, her daughters Cher and Georganne LaPiere Bartylak, and grandchildren Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman. The documentary begins with Holt's humble beginnings in rural Arkansas, where she first dreamt of stardom as a little girl and continues through her six tumultuous marriages while pursuing a career among Hollywood's elite as a singer and actress. Holt endures a series of dramatic personal and professional triumphs and setbacks but survived and overcame the odds -- no matter the challenge - to successfully raise two loving daughters. One of the daughters would live out the dream Holt could never fulfill for herself and go on to become one of the world's biggest stars. Dear Mom, Love Cher includes unprecedented access to the family and features a never-before-heard duet performance with Holt and Cher, along with the long-lost recordings Holt taped more than three decades ago that Cher has re-mastered for commercial release later this year, making her mother's lifelong dream a reality.

CHER ARRIVES AT TARGET PRESENTS 'AFI NIGHT AT THE MOVIES'

Old Hollywood meet slightly younger Hollywood at last night’s (April 24, 2013) Target Presents AFI’s Night at the Movies at ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood, California.
Demi Moore was looking great at the event as she joined music legend Cher. The two seemed to have the same wrinkle free foreheads. At 50 and 66 respectively, that is pretty amazing.

Both women wore black, with Demi going for a Valentino black chiffon pantsuit with a lacy black camisole underneath. While Cher wore a see-through cream-and-black patterned top that she paired with a black blazer, black leggings and leather boots.
Fellow big names from the film industry, Sally Field and Shirley MacLaine, also attended the Californian event, along with acting legends Harrison Ford, Peter Fonda, Kurt Russell and Kevin Spacey to wish Shirley a happy birthday.

GMA: CHER, 66, BACK WITH NEW SOLO ALBUM!

Posted by: Chris-q 23.04.2013

ABC News’ Chris Connelly reports:
Cher is officially back in action!
The irrepressible one-of-a-kind songstress, who started serving up hit singles in the 1960s alongside Sonny Bono, then on her own, has ended her more than a decade-long break from solo recording.
At 66-years-old, Cher knocked out nine new tracks in the studio, tweeting in all caps Monday,” I JUST FINISHED MY CD,” marking the completion of her 26th album in her career.
The CD’s first single, “Woman’s World,” is slated for release in June.
“Another thing we’ve heard about this album is that she’s working again with Christina Aguilera and Pink and then Lady Gaga, so you know, she’s kind of reaching out to young people who are really hot in the business that can keep her image up and who clearly have looked up to her,” Assistant News Director of EW.com, Laura Hertzfeld, told ABC News.
In 2011, Cher cheered for her son, Chaz Bono, during his appearances on “Dancing with the Stars.” He has recently lost 60 pounds by continuing to dance, practicing martial arts and watching what he eats.
Next month, Cher will bring real-life drama to Lifetime with a documentary about her mother, “Dear Mom, Love Cher.”
Cher has had a number one hit in four of the last decades. A number one hit off this as yet untitled album would make it five in five decades.
On May 1, Nightline’s Cynthia McFadden will interview Cher about her legendary career.

Then it DONE !! Jakes here putting some parts down & a Harmony !” Cher said Saturday on Twitter, before she announced the album’s completion this morning.
Once scheduled to drop in March, Cher’s new album was to feature Timbaland, a duet with Lady Gaga (“The Greatest Thing”) and two songs written by Pink. Cher has yet to say whether her new album will still include these superstar collaborations, but she did respond to one fan who thought she had disappeared. See her response after the jump.

CHER'S FAMILY SUBJECT OF LIFETIME DOCUMENTARY

Posted by: Twins 01.04.2013

Lifetime will premiere an hour-long documentary that pays tribute to Cher’s mom Georgia Holt on May 6.
Dear Mom, Love Cher will focus on the singer’s family history and features interviews with Holt, her daughters Cher and Georganne LaPiere Bartylak, and grandchildren Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman. The documentary will begin with Holt’s childhood in rural Arkansas and chronicle her six “tumultuous” marriages while she helped Cher to pursue a career.
The documentary also features a never-before-heard duet performance with Holt and Cher, along with the long-lost recordings Holt taped more than three decades ago that Cher has re-mastered for commercial release later this year.
“This project started as a gift for my mom’s 86th birthday. Like most things in my family, it was initiated by my sister Georganne, who asked me if I could update mom’s album,” said Cher in a statement. So I went big … I’m known in the family for doing that. My sister and I are proud of our mom and we want to share her with the world. My mom is exactly like Rocky. She never gives up!”

PATRICIA SHERIDAN'S BREAKFAST WITH... CHER

Posted by: Chris-q 01.04.2013

Cher has been entertaining new and old fans for five decades. She began her career sharing the spotlight with her then husband, the late Sonny Bono, singing numerous hits, including "I Got You Babe," on their popular television show, "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour." Their daughter, Chastity, underwent a sex change operation and is now Chaz. Cher also has a son, Elijah, with ex-husband Gregg Allman. The multitalented entertainer went on to win an Academy Award for "Moonstruck" as well as appearing in "Silkwood" and "Mask." Now 66, she is coming out with an album later this year and on Friday at 8 p.m. will join Robert Osborne as a guest programmer to debut TCM's "Friday Night Spotlight" series with "A Woman's World: The Defining Era of Women in Film."
Do you remember the first movie that really moved you?
"Dumbo." I was 4 years old. It changed my life forever because I looked up on the screen and said, "That's what I'm going to do when I grow up."
So did fame turn out to be everything you thought it would be?
Actually, I didn't think I wanted to be famous. I mean, at some point obviously I did. I looked up on the screen and I wanted to be up on the screen and be an actor. I just knew I wanted to sing and dance and be silly up on the big screen and have everybody sitting in the audience clapping.
