Vegas Magazine - Cher As Cher extends her smash engagement at The Park Theater at Monte Carlo we sat down with the living icon to talk about her career, the costumes, and of course, life after love.
It's hardly accurate to say that Cher’s having a moment—she’s been having them since 1965. The genre-busting star’s career of hit songs, television shows, blockbuster films, and awards has included such moments as accepting her 1988 Oscar statue for Moonstruck in a nearly completely sheer, black Bob Mackie gown, and her 1986 Oscars outfit—with mohawk headdress made of 800 rooster feathers—that Mackie admits he questioned as “overkill.” (It is one of the most famous ensembles ever to have attended the Academy Awards.) She has taken a few farewell laps: Her 2002 Living Proof tour began as a 59-date tour in North America and morphed into 326 appearances around the world; a three-year residency at the Colosseum; and another farewell tour—Dressed to Kill—in 2014. The day we spoke, she’d just added 18 dates to her extended Classic Cher engagement at The Park Theater at Monte Carlo and the new theater at MGM National Harbor. And in March, the now septuagenarian opened her National Harbor show by asking the audience, “What’s your grandmother doing tonight?” At this moment, Cher is saying farewell to no one.

Cher made quite the fashion statement as she graced the red carpet for the The Promise premiere in Hollywood on Wednesday.
The 70-year-old singer wore an embroidered leather biker jacket with silver studs and a sequinned beanie.
She added a pair of flared black trousers to complete her evening look.
The songstress went for a full face of make-up, opting to wear lots of powder and some false eye lashes.
She was also seen cuddling up to Kim Kardashian on the red carpet, who put on an eye-popping display in a skintight gold dress.
The form fitting dress showed off her famous curves as she styled her short raven locks in a poker straight fashion.
Kourtney looked fabulous as well in a plunging pantsuit, showcasing her bronzed skin.
The trio were all smiles as they posed and pouted on the carpet together.
The Promise is a film starring Christian Bale that takes place in the final days of the Ottoman Empire. It will be released in the US on April 21.
Oscar Isaac plays an Armenian medical student and Charlotte Le Bon plays an Armenian woman raised in Paris.
The love triangle exists between Bale, Isaac and Le Bon.
It is set during the final years of the Ottoman Empire, and the Armenian Genocide it orchestrated, in which 1.5 million people were exterminated.
It premiered at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival, but won't be released in the US until April 21.
It currently has an iMDB rating of 4.2 out of ten; despite only having been screened a handful of times, it has been rated almost 100,000 times on the site, with 62 per cent of 'reviewers' giving it one star and 35 per cent giving it five stars.
Commentators believe the vast majority of votes were politically motivated, and made by people who had not actually seen the film.
