Posted by: Chris-q 30.01.2013

Cher has posted photos with fans taken from the shooting of her new single "Woman's World". The music video was shooted on January 22 by a Norwegian director Ray Kay. "Woman's World" is the lead single from Cher's first studio album since 2001's Living Proof. After a nearly ten-year break, Cher resumed her recording career when she starred in the 2010 musical film Burlesque with Christina Aguilera. Cher recorded two tracks, "Welcome to Burlesque" and "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me", for the film's soundtrack album which was issued in November 2010.

RAY KAY TO DIRECT CHER "WOMAN'S WORLD" MUSIC VIDEO

Reinert K. Olsen (34) aka Ray Kay will be the director of Cher’s music video for Woman’s World due to commence shooting 22nd January 2013.  With a large crew and cast on board this will be one of Cher’s biggest music video productions ever!  Ray Kay is responsible for some extremely successful music videos including Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”, Justin Bieber “Baby” and Britney Spear’s “Till The World Ends”.  Other major artists Ray Kay has worked with include Beyonce, Steven Tyler, Diddy, Enrique Iglesias, Cheryl Cole, Willow Smith, James Blunt, Gloria Estefan and more. He has won numerous music video awards, including MTV Awards.   All in all, Ray Kay’s music videos have been viewed more than 1 Billion times on YouTube, and his music video for Justin Bieber “Baby” is the most viewed video ever, of any kind, on YouTube, with over 650 Million views.

After an 11 year break from her last studio album Cher will be making a huge comeback to the music scene and in a big way.  ”The song is cool and it is really fun to work with Cher on camera. She is an icon, so this doesn’t happen every day. I have dug through many Sonny and Cher songs from the 60′s.  There are not many artists who have been at it for 50 years”, says Reinert K. Olsen.

“This will be an artistic video, which has a very positive and universal message. Fine details need to be kept secret, so I can not say much more than that”, says 34-year-old. Girlfriend of Reinert K. Olsen, Cathrine Haave, has scored a role in the music video as well.  Ray Kay further commented to a Norwegian newspaper “This weekend I worked with Cher and her stylists to plan the styling. I got to know Cher and became acquainted with her. I have incredibly good impression of her, and will help on the production of this video. This will be special”

CHER SIGNS DEVELOPMENT DEAL WITH LOGO

Posted by: Twins 06.01.2013

Cher could be headed back to TV.

More than 40 years after The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour premiered, Logo took the opportunity of Saturday's presentation at the Television Critics Association press tour to announce that the iconic singer, actress, writer and producer has signed a development deal with the LGBT-skewing network. Terms of the deal were being kept under wraps until a later date.

There were few details at the time of the announcement, but network senior vp original programming Brent Zacky said that she's collaborating with comedian Ron Zimmerman for a pilot script set in early 1960s Hollywood.

Zimmerman has been romantically linked to Cher in recent years and counts Shake It Up! and 'Til Death among his most recent TV writing credits.

"We read some of the stuff that Cher and Ron had written and it was really terrific," Zacky told The Hollwyood Reporter, noting it was yet to be decided if Cher would have an on-camera role in the project, which is in development. "We came up with an idea set in Hollywood in the early '60s and we're very excited to see how we get through the process. The deal is brand-new and we're just getting started on the project."

The pact has been In the works for a few months with the network passing on a previous pitch from Cher and Zimmerman, and instead opting for the Hollywood period drama, which Zacky noted proved a better fit for the network.

The Cher scripted development project comes as the network is pushing hard into original scripted efforts. Should the Cher project move to series, it would join a roster of original programming that has included Exes and Ohs, Noah's Arc and Sordid Lives, among others.

"We're very carefully and hopefully diligently taking a few shots in this arena and we'll see how it pans out. We're certainly excited to be in business with an icon like Cher and Ron, who is a terrific writer."

The development exec added that the network is open to doing more than the Hollywood drama with the iconic personality, including unscripted.

Logo, which has had Zacky heading up originals for about a year and a half, has thus far focused on unscripted productions and aquiring on-brand scripted efforts. The network recently bought the rights to air OUTtv's DTLA and also recently acquired syndicated repeats of Nip/Tuck, Bewitched and will soon air episodes of Golden Girls.
