'FREE THE WILD' CHARITY LAUNCH IN LONDON

Posted by: Twins 18.07.2018

The legendary singer has made her return to film in the big-budget musical Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
And Cher worked a rock chick outfit as she continued to promote the much-anticipated sequel by hosting her own screening of the film in London on Tuesday night in aid of her animal charity Free The Wild.
The pop icon looked incredible in a shimmering black biker jacket with intricate white embroidery down the sleeves and gold studs along the lapels and belt.
Underneath the jacket, Cher layered a gold netted top over a white cami, and added a long sparkly gold tasselled neck-tie.
She teamed the eye-catching upper half of her outfit with a pair of stretchy black leggings.
Her barbie pink pedicure could be seen through the peep-toe design of her sparkly black stilettos.
Making an impression as her dark locks tumbled around her shoulders, the singer smoldered as she sported rosy-make up and fluttery eyelashes.
The goddess of pop took the time to pose for photographs and sign autographs for her excited fans as she made her way inside.
It was revealed in late 2017 that she would join the cast of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and be on-screen for the first time in over seven years.
Cher, 72, portrays Sophie's previously unseen grandmother Ruby Sheridan, Meryl Streep's reluctant and mean mother.
She made a dramatic entrance in the films most recent trailer by gatecrashing her granddaughter's party.

It was reported by The Sun that Cher told her co-stars: 'I was terrified when I first arrived on set, partly because everyone had been working together already, and partly because my character wasn't very liked.'
With international hit-singles including Believe and If I Could Turn Back Time under her belt, fans are eager to hear what ABBA songs the superstar will be singing.
As well as the usual ABBA classics, Cher firstly performs with Andy Garcia from Fernando in a breathtaking duet.
Cher also lends her voice to an ensemble rendition of Super Trouper near the end of the film.
Set ten years after the original, the film follows Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) as she tries to run her mother Donna's (Meryl Streep) villa in Greece whilst pregnant, as she finds out more about her past.
In the film, Lily plays young Donna during her infamous time with her three love interests Sam (Jeremy Irvine), Harry (Hugh Skinner), and Bill (Josh Dylan).
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again 'goes back and forth in time to show how relationships forged in the past resonate in the present,' according to Deadline.
The original movie was set on a Greek island where young bride-to-be Sophie discovers that any one of three men - Bill (Stellan Skarsgard), Sam (Pierce Brosnan) or Harry (Colin Firth) could be her father.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is released in UK cinemas on July 20 2018, marking the ten year anniversary of the original film's release.

CHER TO RELEASE ABBA COVERS ALBUM FOLLOWING 'MAMMA MIA'

Posted by: Twins 17.07.2018

Cher will be releasing a full album of ABBA covers. The announcement, which she made during the Today Show, follows her role in the sequel film, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, where she plays Ruby, the mother of Donna (Meryl Streep) and Sophie’s (Amanda Seyfried) grandmother.
“After I did ‘Fernando’ [in the movie] I thought it would really be fun to do an album of ABBA songs, so I did,” she told Today.
Though she didn’t provide details on when the LP would be released, the singer revealed that she didn’t take a straightforward approach to her renditions. “It’s not what you would think of when you think of ABBA, ’cause I did it in a different way,” she explained.
Discussing her role with Kathie Lee Gifford on Today, Gifford brought up that it was “interesting” that Cher would portray Streep’s mother (Cher is only three years her senior). “This was one of the most extraordinary adventures of my life,” Cher said. “Everyone was so gracious and they just loved me and Meryl was hiding when I was doing ‘Fernando.'”
In the film, Cher and Andy Garcia perform a dramatic cover of ABBA’s “Fernando.”
“I was a huge fan, I saw the musical on Broadway three times and was dancing in the aisles with everybody,” Cher cited as one of the reasons she wanted to take on the role. The star herself is also the subject of the Broadway musical The Cher Show. Cher added that she loves the film because “it shows women being in control of their life.”

MAMMA MIA 2 WORLD PREMIERE IN LONDON, UK

Posted by: Twins 17.07.2018

Meryl Streep thinks Cher 'steals' the show in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
The 69-year-old actress has reprised her role as Donna Sheridan in the musical sequel but she has admitted the legendary singer, who plays her mother Ruby, was the one who had all eyes on her, especially when she started singing the ABBA hit Fernando.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Streep said: 'It was fantastic. I came on the set the day that she sang Fernando. That was my first day... And she just lifted the lid off the place! I mean, she steals the movie!
Streep then joked that the 72-year-old singer 'appropriately' plays her mother in the movie because she's 'lived longer' than her - despite only being three years older.
She quipped: 'She's lived a much longer life than I have.'
The pair previously worked together on the 1983 drama Silkwood and, although this is the first time since then that they have starred alongside one another, Cher felt more relaxed knowing that she'd have the actress on hand to help her.
She explained: 'We've stayed friends all these years. I cannot believe that, but [Silkwood] was my first film, and she helped me.
'I mean, she was unbelievable, because I had no idea what I was doing. It's great to see her [again].'

Although Cher was a big fan of ABBA - whose music soundtracks the movie - before she started work on the film, she recently admitted that she hadn't appreciated how 'complicated' the songs were until she started singing herself.
Speaking at a press conference in London alongside co-stars including Lily James and Amanda Seyfried, she told BANG Showbiz: 'In America we knew the hit songs, but then when I heard Fernando I heard a different thing.
'I heard the acting of it and I didn't realise the songs were so complicated and I didn't realise how orchestrated and produced they were.'
On Monday, Streep looked stunning in blue at the premiere of the film. She was seen kissing Cher on the lips at the event.

MAMMA MIA 2 PRESS CONFERENCE IN LONDON

Posted by: Twins 15.07.2018

There was something in the air that night… or certainly today, when the huge assembly of cast members of Mamma Mia 2 (subtitled: Here We Go Again) gave not one, but TWO press conferences to talk about the much anticipated new musical.
It was ten years ago when the greatest ABBA songs gave Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and an all star cast the greatest movie musical of all time. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is the ABBA-inspired sequel complete with Dancing Queens and Kings aplenty including Amanda Seyfried, Dominic Cooper returning as the star-crossed warblers, along with Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard, Julie Walters, Celia Imrie. Newcomers including Jeremy Irvine, Lily James and only flipping living legend herself – Cher!
Joining the cast for two UK press conferences were Andy Garcia, Hugh Skinner, Christine Baranski, Jessica Keenan Wynn and Alexa Davis. The story is by Richard Curtis, it was written and directed by Ol Parker, based on Judy Craymer and Catherine Johnson’s original musical and, of course the music of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad of ABBA.
In this sequel to Mamma Mia!, Sophie learns about her mother’s past while pregnant herself. Discover Donna’s (Meryl Streep, Lily James) young life, experiencing the fun she had with the three possible dads of Sophie (Amanda Seyfriend). Sophie is now pregnant. Like Donna, she’ll be a young mother, and she realizes that she’ll need to take risks like her mother did.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is released in the UK on the 20th of July.
