Cher has postponed the second leg of her Dressed to Kill tour due to an "acute viral infection," according to a representative for the singer. What was supposed to be the opening show in Albany, N.Y., on Sept. 11, will now take place on Oct. 6 and the Manchester, N.H., show that was to follow on Sept. 13 will now take place on Oct. 7.
Cher has been ordered to be on full bed rest for several days since seeing doctors over the weekend, necessitating the change in dates. The remainder of the tour is expected to stay the same.
Ticket holders unable to attend the rescheduled dates will have refunds available.
Cher's Dressed to Kill tour opened March 22 in Phoenix, seeing 610,812 attendees at 49 total shows -- all of which were sell-outs. The diva's tour had grossed a reported $54.9 million through the end of its first leg on July 11.
For the tour's second leg, Emmy Award-winning fashion designer Bob Mackie will be adding some extra glitter with new costumes. (The pair have collaborated for decades, but he couldn't design outfits for the first leg of the new tour due to time constraints.)
The Dressed to Kill Tour is Cher's first tour since her lengthy Living Proof Farewell Tour, which played 325 shows around the globe from 2002 through 2005.
Billboard was on hand at multiple shows throughout the new tour's first leg, including its recent stop at Staples Center in Los Angeles on July 7. The icon was in fine form, belting out familiar hits like "If I Could Turn Back Time," "Believe" and "I Got You Babe," while mixing in new material from her most recent album, Closer to the Truth.
